| WHAT SIZE CONTAINERS DO YOU RENT? Our rental units are 20' long by 8' wide by 8.5' high (exterior dimensions). The interior volume is roughly 1,170 cubic feet. They can be rented with or without shelving. |
| IS THERE A MINIMUM RENTAL PERIOD? You can rent a storage unit from a minimum of one month to as long as you choose. |
| HOW MUCH SPACE IS REQUIRED FOR DELIVERY? The amount of space is minimal. For a 20-foot storage unit you will need approximately 75 feet of straight clearance. For a 40-foot storage unit you will need approximately 100 feet of straight clearance. The width requirement is approximately 10 feet. |
| HOW IS THE CONTAINER DELIVERED? We deliver the unit to your site using a tilt bed truck. The driver will back in to the area, tilt the end of his trailer into the air, then the storage unit will gently slide off the back of the trailer onto the ground. The driver will need to pull straight out from under the storage unit. |
| IS THERE ANY SITE PREPARATION NECESSARY? The only thing you need to worry about is that the surface is fairly level, smooth, and firm. We can deliver on dirt as long as it is not too soft. We can also deliver on cement, pavement, asphalt, gravel or grass. Please keep in mind that delivering on soft surfaces such as grass may leave tire tracks. |
| DO I HAVE TO BE PRESENT FOR THE DELIVERY OF MY STORAGE UNIT? We recommend that you or a designated contact person be present the first time we deliver a unit to you. If this is not possible, we can discuss other alternatives. |
| HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY STORAGE CONTAINER? We strive to deliver your storage container in the shortest time possible. Usually, we can deliver it within a day or two from the time you place your call. |
| WHAT TYPE OF PAYMENT IS REQUIRED UPON DELIVERY? At the time of delivery, we collect for the delivery and pickup of the storage container. In addition, we collect a pro-rated rent for the current month. For example, if the container is delivered on August 10th, we collect for 20 days rent (based on a 30 day month). Add state sales tax to the delivery, pickup, and monthly rental fees. |
| HOW DOES THE PICKUP PROCESS WORK? When you are finished with your container and it is unloaded, call us to let us know. We will immediately stop the billing cycle. We will, at our earliest opportunity, pick up the container. |
| WILL I BE CHARGED FOR THE WHOLE MONTH IF MY CONTAINER IS PICKED UP AFTER THE FIRST OF THE MONTH? No. Just like at the time of delivery when we pro-rate the number of days you have the container the first month, we do the same for the last. For example, if we pick up the container on the 7th, your final payment will be for 7 days only. Note - There is a one month minimum rental period (30 days). |
| DO I NEED A PERMIT? To date, Out-Back Storage has never had a storage container sited or impounded for improper placement. However, the placement of the container is in your hands at time of delivery. If you have any questions as to wheter or not you need a permit for a storage container in your town, you should check your town's website or call the town. Any tickets, fines, impound fees, etc. will be your responsibility. However, if your town requires that the container be removed, we will do everything in our power to remove it in a timely manner. |
| ARE MY GOODS INSURED? We recommend that you insure your goods against potential damages. If the items stored inside the container are damaged the liability rests with you the customer, so please be sure to speak to an insurance professional about insurance options available. We recommend calling the provider of your homeowners insurance for guidance. |
| WILL YOU DROP OFF A CONTAINER SO THAT I MAY LOAD IT WITH MY BELONGINGS AND HAVE YOU MOVE IT TO ANOTHER LOCATION? We do not offer moving services at this time. We simply drop off an empty container at your location to be used where it sits for on-site storage for as long as you need it. When you are done with it, you empty it, call us, and we come take it away. Quite often customers who are moving to a new house will rent one of our storage containers and place it at their new house (or house which is being built). They will then, either through the help of a moving company or on their own, move their belongings to the container at the new location. This enable their belongings to be stored on site while their new house is being built, remodeled, or simply cleaned before they move in. |
| ARE THERE PROHIBITIONS OF USE? Out-Back Storage asks that you not store any of the following materials in our containers: no illegal, toxic, waste, contaminated, controlled, hazardous, restricted, explosive, flammable, chemical, paint material of any kind, nor any inherently dangerous materials of any kind. |
| WHAT COLORS ARE THE CONTAINERS? The containers are painted a neutral color to blend in with its surroundings. |
